Sources at TheGWW were able to confirm that Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 4 and 5; are currently in active development at Warner Bros. Pictures. Casting is currently underway for these two final films.
It is interesting how Warner Bros. still has faith in the upcoming films, despite reception to Fantastic Beasts and The Crimes of Grindelwald was mixed by critics and audiences. The Wizarding World franchise seems to be very much alive, not only with the Fantastic Beasts films, but with a new RPG coming soon titled Hogwarts Legacy that seems to bring both the worlds of Harry Potter and Fantastic Beasts together. Plus early talks of a potential Harry Potter series for HBO Max, as reported by THR.
Fantastic Beasts and Where To Find Them 3 wrapped filming a few months back according to composer James Newton Howard. Warner Bros had recently recasted the role of Grindelwald with Mads Mikkelsen, which was previously held by Johnny Depp prior to controversy with ex Amber Heard. Harry Potter franchise writer Steve Kloves is co-writing the film with author J.K. Rowling. Not much is known about the plot except that it’ll take place partially in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, and Berlin, Germany leading up to the Wizarding World’s involvement in World War II.
