I promise I’m not going to report on every bundle Humble does, but this is a really good one. Currently, Humble is running a Firaxis bundle. If you’re unware of what Firaxis develops, it’s essentially the modern reboot of XCOM and Civilization. Here is the breakdown of the bundle.
Pay what you want for…
- XCOM: Enemy Unknown
- Sid Meier’s Civilization III
- Sid Meier’s Pirates
- Ace Patrol Bundle
Beat the average (currently $9.90)…
- Civilization IV
- Civilization V
- Sid Meier’s Starships!
- XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Elite Soldier Pack
- XCOM: Enemy Unknown – Slingshot Pack
- XCOM: Enemy Within
- 10% off Humble Monthly
- More Unannounced Titles
$15 or more unlocks…
- Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth
- Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth – Exoplanets Map Pack
- 33% off for Sid Meier’s Civilization: Beyond Earth – Rising Tide DLC
Civilization are great games, don’t get me wrong, but the real gem of this bundle is XCOM: Enemy Unknown on the cheap. Essentially paying $1 for XCOM is a great deal, and one should take. Don’t let the fact that it is turn-based dissuade you, it can actually be an incredibly tense and action packed game.
It’s personally one of my favorite games, ever. However, if you really want to commit, you should spring the dough to get the Enemy Within DLC as it adds a bunch of awesome new features to XCOM like controllable mechs and genetically engineered soldiers.
It should be noted that XCOM 2 is just around the corner launching on February 5. Now would be the perfect time to jump into XCOM in preparation for the next coming invasion.
