The Asgardian Avenger is back in the first trailer for the anticipated third film in the Thor series from Marvel Studios. If this trailer is any indication, that anticipation just become solidified.
The trailer is action packed and is apparently lighter in its overall tone. Even the graphics remind me of the original Guardians of the Galaxy with its pseudo 80’s aesthetic. The first looks at Jeff Goldblum’s Grandmaster and Cate Blanchett’s Hela are satisfying and it looks like Loki is taking a more active role in the battle to defend Asgard. Hela looks powerful and menacing in this and her revenge on Asgard looks swift and unforgiving. You even get a glimpse of Idris Elba’s Heimdall on the run from the destruction.
Overall the trailer really looks like a lot of fun and the use of Immigrant Song by Led Zeppelin works well. Check it out below.
Imprisoned on the other side of the universe, the mighty Thor (Chris Hemsworth) finds himself in a deadly gladiatorial contest that pits him against the Hulk (Mark Ruffalo), his former ally and fellow Avenger. Thor’s quest for survival leads him in a race against time to prevent the all-powerful Hela (Cate Blanchett) from destroying his home world and the Asgardian civilization.
Thor: Ragnarok opens November 3, 2017.
