I’m a standing desk guy. After experiencing a herniated disc at 20 years old, I have spent the past 20 years battling with various postures and routines to reduce muscle spasms. The one thing I have not tried is a walking treadmill. So when this opportunity came up, I took it!
Surprisingly, the FlexiSpot Walking Treadmill goes hard. I was expecting a max speed of 2.5 – 3.0 MPH. Instead, this goes up to 6.2! That’s running speed, folks. Let’s get into it.
My experience began with picking up the delivery from my local post office. While FlexiSpot recommends two people lift the box, it only weighted 54 lbs so I was able to lift it myself. Unboxing was a breeze. The treadmill is mostly pre-assembled. The only work I had to do was snap the tablet/phone mount to the handrails, and affix the red emergency release magnet to the side.
The display is bright and easy to read from a standing and walking position. The readout includes time, speed, distance, and calories burned. The latter has no method for being accurate, but I believe it is a common expectation of users. The display, speed, and programming is controlled by an included remote control. When not in use, the remote can be stowed conveniently in the base of the treadmill.
The tablet holder is large enough for a 12″ tablet. I am unable to test a 14″ but I expect it would work just fine. If you want to place your phone on it, the bottom of your phone would be covered up by the plastic. That was the case for my iPhone 15 Pro Max.
For my use, I found that a speed of 2.0 – 2.5 MPH was optimal for typing. Fortunately, I don’t type as much as I used to so during long meetings I would ramp it up to 3.5 MPH and observe those meetings. If I were a presenter, I would not use the treadmill at all.
A risk to consider, if you choose to run on this treadmill, is that the overall length of the base is just 40″. That’s not enough for running fast as you could slide off.

In terms of improvements, I’d like to see the handrails be adjustable. I’m nearly 6 ft tall and found the handrails too low.
Who is this For?
Height adjustable desks are a great start to improving your overall health if you have a sedentary job. But that is not enough to truly be healthy. It’s important to move your body. In fact, a recent study found alternating between sitting and standing is not as valuable to your overall health as getting up and walking every 30 minutes. That is where this walking treadmill comes into play. You can get your body moving without the need to stop most types of desk work. This does not replace a daily workout. But it does keep you moving!
