The FlexiSpot X1 Power Recliner is a comfortable recliner chair for those looking for a chair that doesn’t take up a lot of space and also has some comfort adjustments. This is accomplished through a motor that allows you to easily adjust the recline angle to your liking. When I first sat in the chair, I was not blown away, as far as comfort goes. But once I began to recline, and reached about 135 degrees, I found myself getting way more comfortable. In fact, when it reached the max recline angle of nearly flat, I closed my eyes and relaxed for a few minutes!

In the past week with the X1, I have found it most comfortable when reclined 50%-100%. I have mostly used it with a pillow under my head and a Seam Deck in my hands at about a 135 degrees. Adjusting the angle is quick and easy. The included, wired controller, has two buttons: recline and decline. When the recline button is pressed, both the backrest and leg rest move. There is not independent movement for these, which is a shame. On the other hand, this is a $300 chair that was assembled in just 8 minutes. And I did it myself – no help. It’s currently on sale for just $149.99, which is a great deal considering the comfort, speed of assembly, and the quiet and efficient motor.
There is one other issue to point out: the two pockets are a great idea, but to assemble the side panels, where the pockets are, a screw must be driven into the frame and therefore the head of the screws will rub against your hands when you access the pockets if you are not careful.
Overall, the FlexiSpot X1 Power Recliner is a well-made and comfortable chair. At a low price it provides a strong value and I especially like how it’s not enormous, thereby not taking up too much space in my office. I do wish it had greater adjustment options, but for that you can look to FlexiSpot’s other options.
