Fox is moving the upcoming release dates of two potential box office hits.

Director Robert Rodriguez (Sin City) is helming the adaptation of the Yukito Kishiro manga series Alita: Battle Angel for the big screen from a script written by James Cameron and Laeta Kalogridis. Cameron will also serve as producer through his Lightstorm Entertainment company.

The film, starring Rosa Salazar as the lead along with Jackie Earle Haley, Jennifer Connelly, Mahersala Ali and Christoph Waltz was originally scheduled to be released July 20th of this year, but has been moved back to December 21st.

The next film to get a new release date is Shane Black’s The Predator. Black, who starred in the original Predator film in 1987 steps behind the camera to direct the sequel to that film starring Boyd Holbrook, Olivia Munn, Keegan-Michael Key, Sterling K. Brown, Jacob Tremblay and Thomas Jane.

The film, about an alien hunter who comes to Earth to hunt humans for sport, was originally scheduled to be released August 3rd and will now be released September 14th.
