Casting news is starting to come in a steady pace as movie production is set to begin all over the world. After Fox announced their upcoming slate of movies and release dates, it was only a matter of time before casting news followed. Now we some to share with you.
The Hollywood Reporter and Comicbook.com are both reporting that Fox has already started casting their latest X-Universe film New Mutants and they are a couple of familiar faces.
Anya Taylor-Joy from Split and The Witch has been cast as Illyana Nikolaevna Alexandria Rasputin also known as Magik. The sister of X-Men hero Colossus, she uses sorcery and teleportation along with an enchanted sword.
Game of Thrones alum Maisie Williams joins her on-screen sister Sophie Turner (Jean Grey) as Rahne Sinclair also known as Wolfsbane. According to the article, she will play a young woman who must reconcile her religious beliefs with her mutant ability to turn into a wolf like creature.
The article also goes on to state that the remaining cast will include the characters of Danielle Moonstar, Sunspot, Cannonball and Warlock.
Josh Boone will direct the script he co-wrote with Knate Gwaltney.
New Mutants is scheduled for release April 13, 2018.
