Crytek’s highly anticipated monster hunter hybrid Hunt: The Showdown entered early access on Steam this past Thursday. Even in this phase before the full release its clear to see why so many were eager to enter this nightmarish world that Crytek has hatched. At first glance my first instinct was to categorize Hunt next to several other games with the similar premise of co-op/pvp. That misgiving was swiftly and thoroughly discarded as gibberish with in the first minute of my initial game, any attempt to categorize Hunt is an errand of folly for this wholly original soul sucking nightmare in the bayou of hell itself.
