I know, truly shocking news. The famed and loved Rocksteady franchise ‘Batman: Arkham‘ is now going to move away from their standard teen-rating and go for a mature one in their upcoming installment ‘Batman: Arkham Knight‘. Thats what the head of everything Arkham Sefton Hill said in an interview with IGN, “I’m not blind to the fact that [the M rating] does mean some fans will miss out… I don’t want to be oblivious to that fact. It would have been wrong to water down the game and deliver a story we didn’t believe in to keep the game ‘mass market’ or enable it for more people. We feel that’s the wrong way to go about it. We said we love the story and we don’t want to jepoardize that.” Of course not everyone is going to be to pleased about this news (looking at you middle schoolers), but from what Sefton Hill stated it’s for the betterment of the story. They want to give it the good hearty conclusion that this game series deserves. But have no fear (again, looking at you middle schoolers), because apparently the mature-rating won’t change a thing ‘graphics’ wise. “But that doesn’t mean we changed our approach. We’re not including gratuitous blood or swearing. We want to deliver a true end with no compromises, and it takes us to some dark places.” I guess this is what you’d call a win win situation…I think. So now comes the part where I move the spotlight from me and place it on you, the reader. What do YOU think about this news? Thats right, you’re going to have to take 5 minutes out of your day to type a handful of words into a small box and click enter so I can get your opinion on the situation….must be so difficult…
