Gina Prince-Bythewood To Direct ‘Black Cat/Silver Sable’ Movie; Shoots This Fall

May 25, 2017

Deadline reports that Sony set another director for their second Spider-Man spinoffs. As director Gina Prince-Bythewood has been hired for the Black Cat/Silver Sable movie. Her credits include the pilot episode for Cloak and Dagger, the series Shots Fired, Beyond The Lights, A Different World, along with the underrated classic Love and Basketball.

She’ll also rewrite the script penned by Thor: Ragnarok’s Christopher Yost.

Omega Underground previously reported back in April that the film will begin filming this fall.

There’s been some speculation on our part that Zendaya‘s Michelle, could very likely become a version of Black Cat. Not Mary Jane Watson, as some have claimed. I guess we’ll have to wait and see in July.

This could mean the film might be ready for release sometime in 2018 or early 2019.
