‘Godzilla: King of The Monsters’ Adds Thomas Middleditch; Confirms ‘Kong: Skull Island’ Connection?

May 31, 2017

Variety reports that Silicon Valley comedian Thomas Middleditch has landed a role in Michael Dougherty’s Godzilla: King of The Monsters for Legendary Pictures.

He’ll be joining Kyle Chandler, Millie Bobby Brown, Vera Farmiga, O’Shea Jackson Jr., Charles Dance, Sally Hawkins, Ken Watanabe, Aisha Hinds, Anthony Ramos, and Randall Havens. Production is set to begin soon in Atlanta and will spend some time shooting scenes in Qingdao, China.

Thomas actually is listed in the Kong: Skull Island credits as “voice of Jerry”, it’s possible his character Jerry could be in the film and would reveal King of The Monsters is also set in the 1970s. This could help confirm we might be seeing a mash-up of characters from Skull Island and King of Monsters joining the cast of Adam Wingard’s Godzilla vs Kong.

This hasn’t been reported by outlets yet, but Thor: The Dark World and World War Z actor Jonathan Howard has also joined the cast.

Godzilla: King of The Monsters is set for release on March 22nd, 2019.
