No really, it’s happening for real…
Yes, Final Fantasy XV has been in development for quite some time, but it looks as though our need to be patient with developer Square Enix will end this year, for the time being.
The game’s director Hajime Tabata updated his readers today with a blog post detailing what to expect in 2016:
“We will finally release FFXV this year, in 2016! In development, previous phases required wisdom and strength. However, moving forward the final phase will focus on effort and willpower.”
In an interview with Famitsu, Tabata explained that they would be announcing the release date this March.
“This year is the year we’ll release Final Fantasy XV. Currently, we’ve decided on all of its specifications and the beta version is under production so we can shift into the debug phase. We’ll show the real XV during the release date announcement this March.”
When it does release, it’ll be available on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. Some more information is expected to be released with the Active Time Report (the developer vlog) later this month.
