‘Gremlins’ Animated Series is Coming to the WarnerMedia Streaming Service

Feb 25, 2019

Based on the films, a ‘Gremlins’ animated series is in the works for the upcoming WarnerMedia streaming service.

The premise of the series is as follows:

“A period piece following Mr. Wing, as a young man, as he goes on adventures with the friendly Mogwai Gizmo.”

Mr. Wing is the Chinese grandfather from the films. Keye Luke played the character in both ‘Gremlins’ and ‘Gremlins 2: The New Batch.’ It is unknown who will take up the mantle for the new potential series.

Moreover, Tze Chun will write and executive produce the series. He is known for writing and directing ‘Children of Invention’ and the Bryan Cranston lead ‘Cold Comes the Night.’ Chun has also written several episodes of ‘Once Upon a Time’ and ‘Gotham.’ Further, he is the co-founder of comic book publisher TKO Studios.

However, the Warner Bros. and Amblin series will not release until 2020, as that is when the streaming service is planning on launching original content.
