The WarnerMedia streaming service has given a 10-episode series order for the ‘Gremlins’ animated series, now with the title ‘Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai.’
Moreover, the premise of the prequel series is below:
“In 1920s Shanghai, 10-year-old Sam Wing (future shop owner Mr. Wing in the 1984 feature film) meets the young Mogwai called Gizmo. Along with a teenage street thief named Elle, Sam and Gizmo take a perilous journey through the Chinese countryside, encountering, and sometimes battling, colorful monsters and spirits from Chinese folklore. On their quest to return Gizmo to his family and uncover a legendary treasure, they are pursued by a power-hungry industrialist and his growing army of evil Gremlins.”
Further, Tze Chun (‘Once Upon a Time,’ ‘Gotham’) will write and executive produce the show. He recently wrote an episode of the upcoming Apple TV+ series ‘Little America.’
Additionally, it is unknown who will take up the mantle for the new potential series. Keye Luke played the character in both ‘Gremlins’ and ‘Gremlins 2: The New Batch.’
However, there is currently no premiere date for the ‘Gremlins: Secrets of the Mogwai’ series or the WarnerMedia service.
