Today, the guys over at JoBlo dropped several scoops on the entire Marvel Cinematic Universe and their upcoming films. First they confirmed that Planet Hulk will indeed be adapted into Thor: Ragnarok something we heard rumored for a while. Now they come with a few tidbits on both Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 2 and Avengers Infinity War.
The first reveal that The Great Gatsby and Man from U.N.C.L.E actress Elizabeth Debicki has joined the cast of the film. A casting that was mentioned in the past. They also go onto reveal that the main villain of the film will be Ayesha or “HER”. Ayesha was created by the beings known as The Enclave. A group dedicated to creating the perfect genetic beings but restarting humanity. So first they created HIM also known as Adam Warlock! They then created HER (Ayesha) who believes that together they could create the ultimate race. It’s unknown however how much of this origin will be featured in the film. The site goes on to simply speculate that Debicki could indeed be playing Ayesha in the upcoming sequel.
Next the site confirms that Star-Lord and the rest of the Guardians of the Galaxy will indeed be featured in Avengers: Infinity War. This team-up has been assumed but never confirmed given Guardians director James Gunn has stated multiple times he wanted to keep the Earth heroes and Cosmic heroes separate. However, when you are battling a cosmic god like Thanos you need all hands on deck. Directors The Russo Brothers have danced around this questions throughout the press tour for Civil War this past month but did state it would be fun with “play” with the Guardians; specifically mentioning Star-Lord (Chris Pratt).
It’s still unknown if any of The Defenders from Marvel’s Netflix universe will be used in the film. But with a strife between Marvel Studios and Marvel TV behind-the-scenes it’s looking more and more unlikely. Captain Marvel was also revealed to appear in Avengers: infinity War on accident by The Russos during the Civil War press tours.
