GWW’s Best TV Shows of 2018

Jan 8, 2019

The GWW staff loves to veg out in front of the boob tube. And they have been studying this year television programing with a keen eye as they bring you their top television shows of 208.

The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina
Netflix

Casey (EIC): 2018 brought us some great TV and critically The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina may not be in the same league with some other choices on this script, I enjoyed this show immensely. It’s dark, twisted, and a cauldron full of fun. Sabrina talks the teen high school drama into some strange and scary places and I love every, gory, devil-worshipping second of it. Hail Satan.

David: I have a very difficult time keeping up with TV shows due to the variety we have and what I am already trying to keep up with. If I had to pick my absolute favorite TV show this year though, I think it would
have to go to The Chilling Adventures of Sabrina. Not only finally being able to get more content on this branding of the character due to the hiatus of the comic book series. But I was also very pleasant with some of the changes they made for the show while also really enjoying the rest of the cast from the humans to the witches and warlocks. The show’s first season also truly feels like a beginning with many big things to come and I cannot wait for season 2 next year.

Ivy: Sabrina is back with adapting the latest comic book of the same name. She’s still the sweetheart many remember her as but embracing the dark side of the witch’s world helps this very fresh approach to the franchise.

Wynonna Earp
Syfy

Kristel: This show is so unique and season 3 upped its game even more. I am surprised that I love a show like this so much. I’m glad I decided to click on it on Netflix at random. It’s not at all what I expected. Finished the first season in 1 day.

Kidding
Showtime

Joe A.: A Showtime original series that makes it worth adding Showtime to your streaming package.  I cannot wait for this show to return. Easily one of my favorite Jim Carrey performances as Jeff Pickles, a Mr. Rogers type who is going through a total crisis. Each episode plays out like a dark short film, beautiful shot, written and performed by an all-star cast. My personal favorite drama since The Sopranos.

Westworld
HBO

Lee: Westworld continued to deliver another fantastic season of intrigue and chaos with an amazing cast and writing team.

Titans
DC Universe

Brian: I didn’t watch a lot of TV this year besides my normal staples like American Horror Story and Dr. Who but the show that won me over and had me craving for more was DC Titans. This show improved so much each episode that it was hard trying to figure out why they released such a bad trailer.

Mayans
AMC

Chris: A unique twist to the Sons Of Anarchy spin-off. With familiar faces we have seen before and an ending that leaves you with a big gasp and anticipation for Season 2.

RUNNER-UP: Gotham
