Academy Award winning director Mel Gibson has decided to weigh in again on the comic book movie genre. After his Q&A at the Venice Film Festival premiere for his new war film Hacksaw Ridge, the actor/director had some choice words about Zach Snyder’s ‘Batman V Superman’ and his interest in CBM’s
“What did they spend on ‘Batman V Superman” that they’re admitting to? And it’s a piece of s*it.” The Oscar winner stated regarding the cost of the 2016 film. When asked about whether or not he would ever direct a CBM, Gibson stated “I’m not interested in the stuff.”
This weekend, Gibson shared more of his thoughts with The Washington Post. The Braveheart director decided to weigh in on the action in CBM’s, specifically Marvel movies. He stated that Marvel movies contain “Violence without conscience”, they’re “more violent than anything I’ve ever done” and that [in his movies] “you give a s**t about the characters, which makes it matter more.”
Personally, I think for someone who is “not interested in the stuff” he seems to have no end of opinions about it. What do you think about Mel Gibson’s comments? Do you agree or disagree?
