In 1999, Naruto adapted into anime and split into Naruto and Naruto Shippuden. Subsequently, Boruto: Naruto Next Generations emerged as an expansion. But even as Naruto blazes on in multiple timelines, there’s a big twist about Naruto character ages.
However, for all that we know, Naruto began his adventure from the Ninja Academy to his eventual crowning as the Hokage of the Hidden Leaf Village.
But the interesting thing is, almost every edition lasted about a year, so Naruto shouldn’t age as much as you think. To that end, in my pursuit to discover his age, in this article I’ll be doing more mental mathematics and estimations.
I’ll take it from here, anyways, tracing his age timeline to this present moment. Shall we?
Naruto Uzumaki: In The Beginning
Naruto was around 11 years old when he got admitted into the Ninja Academy. This was the first edition of Naruto, the manga. Here, Iruka Sensei, Shikamaru, Choji Akimichi, and Kiba Inozuka all befriended him.
As the Jinchūriki of Kyuubi almost wiped out the Hidden Leaf Village, Naruto battled loneliness as the inhabitants of Konoha Village tactfully avoided him. Due to this, he became intentional about attracting people’s attention to break his loneliness.
And given that this edition lasted for a year, it’s safe to say that Naruto was about 12 years old at the end of this stage.
How Old is Naruto in Shippuden?
After his encounter with Jiraiya, Naruto returned to the Hidden Leaf Village as a transformed and mature man. His quest was to bring Sasuke to the Village, still.
His journey with Jiraiya lasted about two and a half years. So we can imagine that he was about 14 to 15 years old at the beginning of Shippuden.
This edition is laced with interesting events: Their encounter with the Akatsuki organization; the death of many characters; the pursuit and discovery of Sasuke, and oh! The deadly Fourth Shinobi War. There was also the fight for the Hokage of Konoha Village — the confrontation between Naruto and Sasuke.
If these eventful encounters lasted for about a year, then Naruto’s age was around 17 years at the end of Naruto Shippuden.
How Old was Naruto in Naruto the Last?
Because the events of the 4th Great Ninja War birthed this episode two years after, Naruto was 19 years old in Naruto the Last.
But at the end of the movie, which lasted about a year, Naruto declared his love for Hinata. After that lovely kiss under the moon, the end credits show several images and scenes from the future of their wedding ceremony.
Now, Naruto was about 20 years old when he took Hinata as his bride.
How Old was Naruto when he became the Hokage?
The Hokage of the Hidden Leaf handed over his title to his student, the star icon of all ninjas – Naruto.
This took place 5 years after his marriage to Hinata, so he was about 25 years old being the Hokage.
How Old is Naruto in Boruto?
Naruto was about 32 years old. Here’s how: Naruto’s Next Generations kick-started 7 years after Naruto became Hokage, and 16 years after the 4th Shinobi War. This event is centered around Boruto Uzumaki, the son of Naruto Uzumaki and Hinata Hyûga. Well, here, he learns well about the world of the ninjas. Thanks to him, Kawaki, Sarada, and Mitsuki, Naruto would have suffered extinction from the tough Isshiki who sealed him.
Key Events and Their Impact on Naruto’s Age
One of the most important events in the Naruto series was the Fourth Shinobi World War, which was also called the Fourth Great Ninja War. This war arc showed how much Uzumaki Naruto had grown because he was so important to the battle and how it affected his maturity and skills.
- During the Pain Arc, Naruto sought to keep his town from being destroyed. It was a turning point in Masashi Kishimoto anime series, as this fight pushed him to his limits and showed how much he had grown.
- Time Skip and Character Growth: The break in time between Naruto and Naruto Shippuden gave the characters a lot of room to grow. When they were younger, Sasuke Uchiha and Uzumaki Naruto were the same age. But they went in different directions, which totally changed their skills and goals.
- Story of Naruto’s Father: Naruto’s father, Minato Namikaze, left behind a story that affected Naruto’s trip. Naruto was moved by his bravery and sacrifice during the war arc to become a better shinobi and leader.
Final Thoughts
Since Boruto: Naturo’s Next Generations kicked off in 2020, and Naruto clocked 32 at that time, it’s safe to conclude that Naruto is currently 34 years old.
No matter how old Naruto is, he is always our favorite anime character. Why not customize an anime enamel pin for a gift? Custom enamel pins can be placed anywhere, on clothing, backpacks, or just in a collection they are a way to make friends happy and commemorate events.
