Hugh Jackman Might Drop ‘Wolverine 3’ Teaser Trailer On Fallon This Week

Sep 19, 2016

Hugh Jackman will be making an appearance on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon this Thursday as announced by NBC, but really doesn’t have any film projects coming out except for Wolverine 3 in March.

We are speculating that it’s extremely possible Jackman might be there to also drop the first trailer/footage for his final outing as Wolverine.

You might be asking yourselves, why would an actor debut a big trailer on a late night television talk show?

He wouldn’t be the first one to do so for a comic book movie or even an X-Men movie.

Chris Evans and Robert Downey Jr. went on Jimmy Kimmel Live last November to reveal the debut trailer for Captain America: Civil War.

In December, Ben Affleck appeared as well to introduce the new Batman v Superman trailer on Kimmel.

Months prior to that Ryan Reynolds after Comic-Con appeared on Conan to show an TV MA version of the Red Band trailer of Deadpool and even did a bit in costume with the host.

Thing of it is, Jackman has done Fallon a lot and has somewhat of a rapport with the host and it would make sense he’d use that venue over Conan or Kimmel to debut footage from the film.

It wouldn’t hurt to use the trailer drop to help promote Global Citizen at the same time.

You might remember Fallon was the one that pressed Liev Schreiber about a possible return as Sabretooth for the film, he obviously has the thing for Wolverine.

After the disappointing domestic returns on X-Men: Apocalypse, Fox needs to really up their game with promotion on future X-Men films not titled Deadpool. Trailer reveals on other late night shows seemed to gather buzz for the other big comic book films, so they might as well use this as way to reach general audiences before dropping it online.

The R-rated film is six months away from release and while The Wolverine did okay, Hugh’s final outing as Wolverine might need to be handled with a little more bravado and enthusiasm in it’s marketing campaign.

We’ll have our fingers crossed for some possible footage.
