Say what you want about the films of Dean Devlin, but you cannot minimize the fact that he and his production teams leave everything out on the field when they make a movie. The producer of big budget disaster epics like Independence Day and Godzilla has directed a new film about a disaster to fall on mankind; the weather.
Dean Devlin and Danny Cannon (Judge Dredd) have directed a new film slated for release at the end of this year. Written, produced and Co-Directed by Devlin, the film Geostorm is about a future where weather is controlled through a series of satellites above the Earth. When rogue weather events that cannot be controlled begin to attack the cities of the Earth, it’s up to a group od scientists to determine how to stop this mounting threat before a worldwide geostorm wipes out all life on Earth.
Starring Abbie Cornish (RoboCop), Gerard Butler (London has Fallen), Andy Garcia (Passengers) and Ed Harris (Westworld), Geostorm descends in theaters October 20, 2017.
