Deadline reports that IT and IT: Chapter 2 director Andy Muschietti has closed another deal on another film in development. This time it will be a re-imagining of The Time Machine, based on the H.G. Wells novel. Wells being the pioneer of the science fiction genre. He has written a treatment with his sister Barbara Muschietti with the aim to direct. Warner Bros. is heading up the production
Warner Bros. and Paramount will team alongside Leonardo DiCaprio’s Appain Way.
The tale revolves around an inventor who hopes to alter the events of the past and travels 800,000 years into the future, where he finds humankind divided into warring races.
Muschietti also has feature adaptations of anime projects such as Sony’s Robotech and Warner Bros’ Attack On Titan.
When and where this will begin filming is unknown.
