James Wan’s ‘Silvercup’ Adds Jake Abel to Cast

Aug 26, 2019

‘Silvercup,’ New Line’s upcoming secret horror film from director James Wan (‘The Conjuring,’ ‘Aquaman’), now has Jake Abel onboard the cast. However, his character, as well as the plot, is under wraps.

Abel is currently in the Netflix series ‘Another Life,’ and was recently in the Bravo/USA series ‘Dirty John.’ Other credits include both of 20th Century Fox’s ‘Percy Jackson’ films, and Bill Pohlad’s ‘Love & Mercy.’ Next, he will appear in the biopic ‘Son of the South,’ which is currently in post-production.

He joins Annabelle Wallis (‘Tag,’ ‘The Loudest Voice’) and George Young (‘Containment,’ EA’s ‘Anthem’).

Moreover, Wan and Ingrid Bisu crafted the story, while the screenplay credit is still unclear.

Additionally, on August 2nd, Wan gave some insight on this new project on Instagram:

“I’m super excited to go back to my indie roots with this hard-R thriller. An original horror idea (not a reboot/remake or anything based on existing IP) with old school, practical effects and no giant, blue screen sets.”

Further, filming will begin September 23rd in Los Angeles. After, at the top of 2020, he will start pre-production on Warner Bros.’ ‘Aquaman 2,’ releasing December 16, 2022.

There is currently no release date yet.
