Jason Blum Entertains The Idea of Blumhouse Tackling Universal’s ‘Dark Universe’ Films

Dracula Untold and Tom Cruise’s The Mummy were seemingly giant hiccups to Universal Pictures’ plans to reignite their Universal Monsters franchises by combining them into their own cinematic universe.

With projects like Bride of Frankenstein, Van Helsing, The Invisible Man, The Wolf Man, and Creature From The Black Lagoon all up-in-the-air at this point.

Well, there there seems to be someone willing to actually jump back into that hornets nest and that is Blumhouse Productions’ Jason Blum, who entertained the idea of this studio shingle taking over the projects on Twitter.

It would be an excellent financial move as the budget for The Mummy, likely could have paid for five Blumhouse films. Blumhouse already has an existing relationship with Universal.
