Jessica Chastain Confirms ‘X-Men: Dark Phoenix’ Role By Teasing James McAvoy

Actress Jessica Chastain has seemingly confirmed her reported role in X-Men: Dark Phoenix via Instagram.

Her role hasn’t been made official but it was said that she would be playing Shi’ar Empress Lilandra, an alien leader that eventually falls for and marries James McAvoy’s Xavier. It’s expected she’ll start out as the film’s antagonist.

Chastain joins returning cast members Sophie Turner, Tye Sheridan, James McAvoy, Michael Fassbender, Jennifer Lawrence, Nicholas Hoult, Alexandra Shipp, Evan Peters, Kodi Smit-McPhee, and possibly Olivia Munn.

Lamar Johnson is currently is the only other new addition.

X-Men: Dark Phoenix is currently filming in Montreal and is set for release on November 2nd, 2018.
