I think we’re all a bit shocked to see John Wick directors David Leitch and Chad Stahelski, so quickly signing-up for so many future projects. They’re attached to direct Chris Pratt in Cowboy Ninja Viking for Universal and a sequel to John Wick down the line for Lionsgate. There is also chatter that Warner Bros. is eyeing them for a DC Comics project.

Well, Hollywood Reporter has learned Sony will be releasing a feature adaptation of the comic book Bloodshot. It’s script was co-written by Jeff Wadlow (X-Force, Kick-Ass 2, Masters of The Universe) and Eric Heisserer (The Thing Remake). Matthew Vaughn (X-Men First Class, Flash Gordon, Kingsman) will act as producer, who we thought would end-up directing.

A soldier brought back from the dead by a secret government agency, turned into an unstoppable killing machine with no memory powered by nanotechnology.

The kicker being that Chad and David will be directing the film instead for Sony, and it’s release date is set for 2017. We also have to assume they’ll sign a contract that includes an option for that sequel. This begs the question, will they have to exit Cowboy Ninja Viking to be able to make Bloodshot instead?

Sony is also developing a feature adaptation of Harbinger as well with a script by Eric Heisserer, both characters will recive two solo film before teaming-up for a fifth movie titled Harbinger Wars. The directors being look at for Harbinger are currently being kept under wraps.
