Hong Kong director Johnnie To is known for his stellar gangster films, most notable for Election and Election 2.
His films focused on Hong Kong’s black society better known as the the triad, an Asian organized crime syndicate.
Hollywood Reporter has revealed that Johnnie will be making an Election 3 to bookend a trilogy.
It’s unknown if franchise actor Louis Koo will be reprising his role in the third installment.
“The script is rather long right now; I haven’t decided which section of the script will be used,” said To. “If I use the later section, Koo might not be in it.”
Production is expected to begin sometime in 2018.
