Today, it was announced the long dead character of Shane played by Jon Bernthal (The Punisher) will be returning to The Walking Dead season 9. This comes off recent news that star Andrew Lincoln as well as Lauren Cohan would be exiting the series after next season as Rick Grimes and Maggie respectively. Fan-favorite Darrell played by star Norman Reedus recently inked a $20 million dollar deal to carry the show into the future.
It’s unknown how Shane will return in the upcoming series since his character has been long dead for many years. But since he will only be in one episode it must be a flashback sequence of sorts. Wouldn’t be terribly impossible if the flashback is used as Andrew Lincoln’s exit as well. A look back at t he character of Rick Grimes of sorts. However, that is pure speculation.
