Sony’s untitled third ‘Jumanji’ film will see the return of Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner. They were the four teen actors from ‘Jumanji: Welcome to the Jungle.’
They join the already returning quartet of actors from the previous film: Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart and Karen Gillan. Additionally, Awkwafina, Danny DeVito and Danny Glover are part of the cast as franchise newcomers.
Wolff was in last year’s ‘Hereditary,’ and has ‘The Cat and the Moon’ releasing next. That film he wrote, directed and starred in.
Blain is one of the male leads in the ‘Charmed’ reboot. Up next for him is ‘Against All Enemies,’ with Kristen Stewart and Anthony Mackie.
Iseman was one of the leads in Sony’s ‘Goosebumps: Haunted Halloween.’ She is in the upcoming third ‘Annabelle’ film, releasing July 3.
Turner’s most recent film Todd Hayne’s ‘Wonderstruck.’ Meanwhile, the ‘Mildred Pierce’ miniseries had the inclusion of her as well.
The premise of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ had a more updated approach to the concept. The classic board game transformed into a video game, and four teens were sucked into its world. Those teens were played by Blain, Wolff, Iseman and Turner. There they became avatars portrayed by Johnson, Black, Hart and Gillan.
Moreover, Jake Kasdan, who directed the feature that made $962 million worldwide, is back to helm the sequel. Also, Kasdan co-wrote the script with returning screenwriters Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.
Further, filming is currently underway on the film. Sony Pictures will release the film on December 13.
