Sony’s untitled third ‘Jumanji’ film will have Rhys Darby reprising his role of the players’ guide from the previous film. Darby was recently in ‘Voltron: Legendary Defender,’ ‘Rise of the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles,’ and ‘Bob’s Burgers.’
Also returning to play video game avatars are Dwayne Johnson, Jack Black, Kevin Hart, Karen Gillan and Nick Jonas. Additionally, the group of teenagers are reprising their roles: Ser’Darius Blain, Alex Wolff, Madison Iseman, and Morgan Turner.
Franchise newcomers include Awkwafina, Danny DeVito, Danny Glover and Dania Ramirez.
The premise of ‘Welcome to the Jungle’ had a more updated approach to the concept. The classic board game transformed into a video game, and four teens were sucked into its world. The plot of the third film is still unknown.
Moreover, Jake Kasdan, who directed the feature that made $962 million worldwide, is back to helm the sequel. Also, Kasdan co-wrote the script with returning screenwriters Jeff Pinkner and Scott Rosenberg.
Further, filming is currently underway on the film. Sony Pictures will release the film on December 13.
