‘Justice League’ Finds It’s Steppenwolf In ‘Game of Thrones’ Ciarán Hinds

Nov 4, 2016

Game of Thrones actor Ciarán Hinds has been cast as the Justice League movie’s big bad Steppenwolf.

Elmayimbe from The Wrap reports Hinds recently finished his motion capture performance for the role of Steppenwolf in Zack Snyder’s DC superhero team up film.

The character who was first introduced during a deleted scene in Batman V Superman: Dawn of Justice will be getting a makeover according to Elmayimbe’s sources.

Check out that deleted scene below where Lex Luthor (Jesse Esienberg) and Steppenwolf first make contact in Zod’s downed Kryptonite ship:

This isn’t Hinds first time playing a baddie in a comic book movie, he played Mephisto in the terrible Ghost Rider: Spirit of Vengeance (I still can’t fathom how the studio thought a sequel for an already rotten Ghost Rider movie was a good idea). Let’s hope Hinds has better luck as Steppenwolf.

I don’t know if I’m the only one who’s keeping tally, but that’s two Game of Thrones actors so far that have bagged roles in the Justice League. The other being Julian Lewis Jones. Could there be more?

I’m fine with this casting choice, Hinds has one of those distinctive voices you need to stand out as a baddie, especially considering his whole performance is mo-cap.

Justice League Synopsis: Fuelled by his restored faith in humanity and inspired by Superman’s selfless act, Bruce Wayne enlists the help of his newfound ally, Diana Prince, to face an even greater enemy. Together, Batman and Wonder Woman work quickly to find and recruit a team of metahumans to stand against this newly awakened threat. But despite the formation of this unprecedented league of heroes—Batman, Wonder Woman, Aquaman, Cyborg and The Flash—it may already be too late to save the planet from an assault of catastrophic proportions.

Justice League will hit screens November 17, 2017.
