Today, Variety announced that Kiersey Clemons has entered talks to join the cast of Disney’s Lady and the Tramp. Clemons will play Darling the human owner of Lady. Lady is an upper-class American Cocker Spaniel who falls in love with a mutt named Tramp (Voiced by Justin Theroux).
The report also mentions actress Ashley Jensen has been cast to voice a Scottish Terrier named Jackie. It’s unknown who the studio will go after to voice Lady at this time. Lego Ninjago director Charlie Bean has been tapped to direct the live-action film set up for Disney’s upcoming streaming service.
Lady and the Tramp will stream on Disney’s platform in 2019
