We’ve been rolling out potential X-Men casting news over the last couple of months revealing Blu Hunt was the frontrunner to play Mirage in New Mutants, along with Alexa Swinton and Toby Huss auditioning for roles in X-Men: Dark Phoenix.
Well, today it’s Deadpool 2‘s turn!
The sequel is about to begin shooting soon in Vancouver and we have a couple of new additions to the cast with Josh Brolin as Cable, Zazie Beatz as Domino, and Jack Kesy possibly as main villain Black Tom.
Omega Underground has uncovered a string of new audition tapes labelled DEADPOOL 2 for the film and might be revealing a brand new character for the film.
Irish actor Killian Scott (Damnation, The Commuter, Calvary, Ripper Street, ’71, Trespass Against Us) and British actor Charley Palmer Rothwell (Legend, Dunkirk, Darkest Hour) and have auditioned for the role of “Mike“. While, Charley’s is much more extensive with many different tapes. It’s hard to ignore that Killian was the most impressive out of the two.

There’s talk of an “asylum” in the diary audition tapes from Rothwell and some of these give a vibe of a prison setting, possible nod to Genosha mutant camp or military setting?
I had initially thought this was for Black Tom due to Scott’s accent, however, Mike talks about transformation, becoming other people, and a “demon-inside” [big man]. Giving us more an impression he’s possibly a different mutant entirely as it’s hard to lock-down his powers just from these tapes alone. Charley (British) for his take on Mike uses more of an American East Coast accent than Irish.
The name Mike could be a codename like with all auditions but we also uncovered another tape by Power actress La La Anthony labelled as NEENA/DEADPOOL 2, Domino’s actual name. Giving us a first insight to what Domino’s interactions with Cable/Wade might be like. So, it’s possible his name might actually be Mike.
Michael Pointer aka Alpha Flight’s Omega/Omega Weapon could be a good fit as both Wade and Pointer are Canadian. Although, this character seems more of a conflicted villain in these scenes. Limited details and Charley playing him very different than Killian, it’s hard to tell who this character might be.
