Just the other day, the guys over at That Hashtag Show revealed that Wonder Woman 2 would feature fan-favorite villain Cheetah set within the 80’s Cold War with the Soviet Union. They also revealed that the studio had approached Emma Stone for the role but the actress has since passed on the role. Now, Variety is confirming that story and revealed that earlier this week director Patty Jenkins pushed for actress Kristen Wiig for the part. The actress has not signed on but has met with top executives for the role.
Which is a step in the right direction.
Wiig is mostly known for her comedic roles coming from Saturday Night Live as well as starring in Ghostbusters and Bridesmaids. However, Wiig has also been known to be a far superior dramatic actor in The Secret Life of Walter Mitty and The Martian. Wonder Woman 2 begins filming this summer.
