Legendary Pictures has sent out a press release announcing the hiring of two new production executives, in it they reveal new official titles for Pacific Rim 2 and Godzilla 2.
The Pacific Rim sequel is now retitled to Pacific Rim: Uprising and the Godzilla sequel has been retitled to the more regal Godzilla: King of Monsters.
Uprising is currently in production in Australia with a release date set for February 22, 2018.
While King of Monsters currently has screenwriters and is expected to have some of it’s production shot in China, yet a director hasn’t been formerly announced. Co-writer Michael Dougherty (Krampus, Trick R’ Treat) is said to be replacing director Gareth Edwards on the film (claimed by Screen Crush).
It’s release date is set for March 22nd, 2019.
