Dec 8, 2015

Loot Crate, the monthly subscription box which offers an assortment of geeky items, has recently introduced a new subscription box called Loot Anime.

Loot Anime is a monthly mystery bundle of figures, collectibles, manga, apparel, accessories and more from some of your favorite anime and manga series with a new theme every month!

This month’s theme is “Brawl”.

Items Included:

  • Naruto: Shippuden Shirt
  • Attack on Titan Bandages
  • Loot Anime Founders Phone Charm
  • Funko Best of Anime Mystery Minis figure
  • Attack on Titan Glass mug
  • The Seven Deadly Sins Manga with Exclusive Variant Cover
  • Loot Anime Poster/ Item description5

Lets start with the shirt, The shirt is very comfortable and features the Akatsuki as well as symbols of different villages.

The Attack on Titan Glass mug was a nice addition. As a frequent coffee drinker, you can never have enough mugs. It features the Attack on Titan logo on one side and the Scout Regiment on the other. If anyone knows me, Attack on Titan is up there as one of my top 5 anime series. With that said, moving on to the next item: Attack on Titan bandages. These bandages are from Crowded Coop and come in an exclusive collectible tin.

3-e1449535898709-200x300The Best of Anime Mystery Mini figure are essentially blind boxes which features any character from Black Butler, Fairy Tail, Sword Art Online, Attack on Titan or Soul Eater. I’ve seen Mystery Mini boxes at Hot Topic before but have never really gotten into them. My Mystery Mini was Eren Yeager from the series Attack on Titan, which as I mentioned before was an instant win since I’m a fan.

The Loot Anime Founders Phone Charm from Loot Anime Labs was the bonus item in this box, I believe. The description states that it is for founding members of Loot Anime. “Founding member” does have a nice ring to it. I wouldn’t actually attach the phone charm to my phone, I didn’t even know phone charms were still a thing. It looks really pretty sharp though, so It’s currently hanging around my rear view mirror, along with my super old Spock Air Freshener from a previous Loot Crate box.

What perfect timing to receive The Seven Deadly Sins vol. 1 Manga. I admit I am fairly new to the series. After seeing the series appear on my Netflix “Top Picks for Daniel” list for 7some time now, I decided to give the series a shot last weekend and ended up binge watching the entire first season. At first I thought it was a Netflix original series, then after a quick Google search, I learned that Netflix actually acquired exclusive English streaming rights. Netflix usually has good taste in shows (see: Daredevil, Jessica Jones, Master of None, Arrested Development), so I trust them. This book should get you started for the series. If you have any doubt about this manga, The Seven Deadly Sins was the second best selling manga of 2015, after One Piece.

6There was also a poster of two girls fighting included in this month’s crate.  I couldn’t recognize the characters so I can only assume they are original characters. The artwork was done by Finni Chang. (I suggest checking out his Deviant Art page for his other artwork, it’s pretty impressive.) On the back of the poster, or the front, depending on how you are looking at it, is a list of the items included as well as a description for each.

“Welcome anime fan, what you hold in your hand is the first Loot Anime Crate. Our whole team just wants to say thanks for taking a chance on this whole new adventure of ours.”

For a first box, I enjoyed everything that was included, maybe it was because majority of what I received was from AoT. Featuring characters from Naruto, AoT and Seven Deadly Sins this box nailed the “Brawl” theme right on the head. I think it’s great that Loot Crate has begun a new subscription box catering specifically to the Anime fans out there.  With Christmas around the corner, this is a perfect gift for the Anime lovers in the family.

Not only has Loot Crate introduced this crate but the team has also debuted a Loot Pets box which features apparel, accessories, toys and treats for your furry loved ones. Loot Crate also donates $1 for each subscription purchase to local and national pet charities.

Next Month’s Loot Anime theme is “Enchant” which features exclusive items from Fairy Tail, No Game No Life and more.
