Mark Wahlberg’s ‘Mile 22’ Starts Shooting Late November In Atlanta

Sep 27, 2017

Director Peter Berg and actor Mark Wahlberg have found they really like working together, although, this doesn’t always equal box office. Berg has extremely spotty record when it comes to his movies earning money for studios. As his films The Kingdom, Battleship, Deepwater Horizon, and Patriots Day have all struggled to make their money back for their respective studios. The last two flops starring Wahlberg.

A clear example of an unsuccessful commerical male director falling upwards.

However, they have a new action film (hopefully cost effective) about to go into production and hopefully this could get some asses in seats. Omega Underground has learned that Mile 22 with the working title Ground Breach is expected to begin filming on November 27th in Atlanta.

A CIA field officer and an Indonesian police officer are forced to work together as they confront violent and extreme political corruption.

Luckily, they were smart enough to nab some action talent to support Wahlberg as Indonesian action star Iko Uwais and Ronda Rousey will be among the leads as well.

STX has yet to give the film a release date but it dropping late 2018 or early 2019 might be a good bet to make.
