After saving the world from Kasha, an evil cat demon, Cindy Moon or Silk, tries to get back to her everyday life. With that normal life, Cindy must take the time to focus on her and not allow Silk to take over life. As many already know, life part of the Spider-Verse doesn’t allow for vacations.

As Cindy returns to keeping a low profile, other malevolent sources are slowly growing. Investigating a mysterious break-in involving a new exhibit from South Korea, she bumps into a familiar face that is significantly older than the day before. This new threat is not just making Silk life difficult but will make her everyday life just as treacherous.
The issue brings a growing trend in comics where we see how being a Superhero affects their lives. The story that Kim creates deals with everyday concerns, from depression, social media, and soul-draining evil spirits. This mixture gives the issue a good starting point for new and old fans of Silk.
Miyazawa art helps support and move the story by itself if needed. The standout feature is the detail in the little things customarily overlooked. When Silk saves a Social Media Influencer, we see her on his phone in clear focus. These small details allow you to absorb the story and not miss a beat. The balance between characters and background is perfect and matches the story’s pace.
Final Thoughts
Overall, Silk is an excellent issue for first-time readers or long-time fans. The story builds up the contrast between Cindy Moon and Silk. That contrasts gives the readers a unique look at how she has navigated life after getting out of the bunker back in Amazing Spider-Man #1 (2014). Kim and Miyazawa’s story and art blend perfectly in this issue, giving us a promising start to the series.
