Marvel Studios has hired their third female director as THR has revealed that Chloe Zhao (The Rider) has taken the director’s chair for their upcoming movie based on Jack Kirby’s The Eternals.
Zhao had been originally in the mix to direct the Black Widow movie.
Sources tell The Hollywood Reporter that one aspect to the story involves the love story between Ikaris, a man fueled by cosmic energy, and Sersi, who relishes moving amongst humans.
The project also allows Marvel to assemble a diverse cast of various shapes and sizes.
The cosmic group of superheroes have their DNA tinkered with by the Celestials, and are essentially God-like with various power-sets.
Production and release dates are unknown but with expected delays on Guardians of The Galaxy 3, this project could be bumped up into filming next year.
