The Illuminerd is reporting Marvel Studios and Kevin Feige are in the early stages of developing a project based of the Illuminati comic series. According to documents obtained by The Illuminerd the only confirmed details at this time are that Kevin Feige is producing and the project is titled Marvel’s Illuminati. There is currently no other information or talent attached at this time which indicates the project is in the very early stages of development.
The Illuminati entered the 616 during Brian Micheal Bendis’ 2005 comic with the same name. The Illuminati is one of the more complex and complicated stories in the Marvel Universe, as the team is composed of the Marvel’s brightest minds and most influencial leaders they are tasked with manipulating the bigger picture while our main cast of Avengers and X-Men take on the more direct approach. Famously the Illuminati have caused more harm than good as they are responsible for some of Marvel’s biggest events and tragedies including sending Hulk to Space, wiping the mind of Captain America, causing Secret Invasion and destroying other planets to save their own.
The Illuminati definitely opens up a plethora of storytelling ideas for MCU as well as allowing them to delve into the dark side of saving the universe. Here is hoping we get more information on all of these upcoming Marvel projects soon.
