Marvel Studios is hard at work switching around their slate of films after the fallout from James Gunn’s departure from Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3. Now the studio is setting their sights on a Black Widow starring Scarlett Johansson. Our friends over at That Hashtag Show have gotten their hands on a few character breakdowns from the upcoming film including the films primary antagonist.
According to their report “The villain is simply described as “exciting” and the studio is open to ethnicity, but looking for someone in their 40s.” The site speculates that this could be Night Raven based on the Fury/Black Widow: Death Duty story arc. They also speculate it could be Taskmaster or The Red Guardian. The report also adds the studio is looking to add another smaller villain with them looking for a woman in her 50’s. Which could be a Russain operative from the KGB Red Room where Natasha was trained. They go onto add the studio is looking for several actors and actresses in their late 20’s and early 30’s including the first as a “kick-ass” female character described as a “female Bond”.
We at Omega Underground also revealed that production could begin in early as 2019. With these breakdowns going out and casting beginning that is becoming more a reality. With filming also expected to be in Miami as well as international locations like Croatia.
