Marvel’s Silk Is Headed To The Small Screen

Sep 3, 2020

Marvel’s latest female Spider spin-off is headed to the small screen as Sony looks to bring Silk to TV. Variety reports Sony is in talks with Lauren Moon to write the project with Phil Lord and Chris Miller executive producing. As of now not network or streaming services have purchased the project but Variety and Deadline indicate Amazon Studios is currently in talks for the entire slate of Sony/Marvel spin-offs.

Earlier in the year it was reported that Silk would be headed to the big screen but it appears those plans have shifted to TV and one wonders if this means Sony is looking to build more of a streaming precense as opposed to a theatrical one with these upcoming spin-offs.

Silk was introduced during a 2014 relaunch of Marvel’s Spider-Man comic. It was revealed Cindy Moon was also bitten by the same Spider, Peter was but her journey after this historic event was much more tragic than Parker’s. Cindy Moon is an interesting character that adds some much needed diversity to the Spider-Man cast.
