Black Adam is ramping up as we are slowly getting casting reveals. Originally Illuminerdi pointed out the studio was interested in Marwan Kenzari to play the film’s villain Sabbac. It now appears that deal has been signed and stamps as The Hollywood Report indicates Marwan has signed on for a role in the highly anticipated DC Comics film featuring the powerful anti-hero.

Marwan Kenzari maybe best know for his most recent roles as Jafar in Disney’s live-action Aladdin and an immortal warrior in Netflix’s The Old Guard.

In THR’s report they do not indicate who Marwan is playing but we can infer thanks to Illuminerdi’s original report that he will be facing of against Black Adam and the JSA as the villain Sabbac. It sounds like this interaction of the villain will center around Ishmael Gregor, a Russian immigrant turned mob boss who looks to gain ultimate power through human sacrifice and his own demonic possession. Like SHAZAM, Sabbac’s name is also an acroymn with an evil twist as it features hellish characters Satan, Aym, Belial, Beelzebub, Asmodeus, and Crateis.

Black Adam’s release date is still unknown at this time due to COVID delays. The film stars Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson as Black Adam with Aldis Hodge, Sarah Shahi, Noah Centineo and Quintessa Swindell rounding out the cast.
