Matthew Vaughn Confirms Talks To Direct ‘Man of Steel’ Sequel

Sep 15, 2017

There’s been talk for months that Warner Bros. was courting directors like Matthew Vaughn (X-Men: First Class, Kingsman, Layer Cake) to direct an untitled Man of Steel sequel.

Our friends from across the pond, HeyUGuys, spoke to Vaughn about the possibility as he confirmed talks have taken place but reaffirming plans to round out a Kingsman trilogy at 20th Century Fox.

“I AM PLANNING ANOTHER KINGMAN, I’VE WRITTEN THE TREATMENT AND SOME OF THE SCENES…I DON’T KNOW WHAT I’M GOING TO DO NEXT BUT I HAVE HAD CHATS ABOUT SUPERMAN, I LOVE SUPERMAN.

“IF SOMEBODY ASKS ME TO DO INDIANA JONES, MOST OF THE SUPERHEROS OR STAR WARS THE FANBOY IN ME CAN’T HELP BUT BE EXCITED.”

Currently, a Man of Steel sequel doesn’t have either production or release dates, so the studio isn’t in any rush despite talk of them eyeing a potential release in 2020.
