Video game creator and personality Hideo Kojima has posted this image of himself and Kong: Skull Island director Jordan Vogt-Roberts at The Games Awards after party on his Twitter account.

The two are looking very friendly and it’s an interesting picture considering Hideo the is the creator of the Metal Gear Solid franchise and Jordan is attached to direct the feature adaptation that’s being setup at Sony Pictures. Metal Gear‘s script was being handled by David S. Goyer and then more recently with rewrites from Jay Basu (Monsters: Dark Continent). Hideo is also said to be an executive producer on the adaptation.

This isn’t the first time the two have met up, as Hideo posted this on Twitter back in July during Comic-Con.

Sony hasn’t made anything official with a production start or release date, but we imagine that will change soon. The studio has had a rough year at the box office and might want to seriously take a look at putting Metal Gear into production sooner rather than later, as Vogt-Roberts could land some serious offers if Skull Island is a big success.

Vogt-Roberts, who is active on Twitter has seemingly suspended his account @VogtRoberts, which is odd since Kong: Skull Island is still in the swing of promotion. It could be social media exhaustion or an attempt to avoid answering questions about upcoming projects.

During the Kong shoot, Jordan posted on Twitter and Instagram suggesting that Metal Gear would be his next film. He’s since made his Instagram account private.

Kojima has recently developed a strong working relationship with Sony, as he’s creating an original and exclusive game IP for Playstation called Death Stranding. He presented a new trailer for the game that features actor Norman Reedus as the main character, the new footage reveals Mads Mikkelsen and director Guillermo del Toro will also be characters in the game.
