Six Underground starring Ryan Reynolds looks to be slowly coming together. The action flick has Michael Bay set to direct from a script by Deadpool screenwriters Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick.

It’s now added Knight and Day/Mission: Impossible – Ghost Protocol stunt coordinator Gregg Smrz, who will also act as the film’s second unit director which is becoming the norm with stunt coordinators. He recently worked on Mission: Impossible – Fallout as their second unit director. An excellent all around aquistion for the action film.

We previously mentioned they added cinematographer Bojan Bazelli (The Ring, A Cure For Wellness, The Lone Ranger) and production designer Jeffrey Beecroft (13 Hours, A Quiet Place, Twelve Monkeys). Giving the impression Bazelli is no longer involved with Gambit.

Production is said to begin this summer and when we get filming dates we’ll update. A release date is unknown for the Netflix film which has Skydance and Platinum Dunes producing.

If they don’t end up using the Sneaker Pimps single 6 Underground during a trailer or title/end credits sequence I’m going to be a little bummed.
