Former Batman actor Michael Keaton had entered talks to star as the antagonist in Marvel’s Spider-Man: Homecoming. Unfortunately, talks fell through and the actor passed on the role.

However, it has now been revealed by The Hollywood Reporter and Variety, that Marvel is back to Keaton with a better offer. The actor is now in final negotiations with the studio to star as the films antagonist. It has been long rumored that one of the film’s villains will indeed be The Vulture, which has yet to be featured in a Spider-Man feature film.

But, had been originally apart of Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 4  with Sir Ben Kingsley attached to the role. That film never came together, it also had Anne Hathaway set to play Felicia Hardy aka Black Cat, she would eventually play Catwoman in Christopher Nolan’s The Dark Knight Rises instead. I wouldn’t be terribly shocked if this film ends-up becoming an MCU version of Raimi’s lost installment.

Our friends over at JoBlo, have also confirmed the film will feature Vulture  (originally reported by Devin over at Birth.Death.Movies) as the main antagonist, with an appearance by The Tinkerer.

Both who made an appearance in The Amazing Spider-Man Vol.1 #2 in 1963. The site also reveals that The Vultures outfit will be made from the remains of Chitiari armor after the Battle of New York. The site also reveals that Spider-Man will get his classic ‘Web-Wings’ something that has yet to be feature in a Spider-Man film.
