Mobile Generative AI Content Startup Scriptic Raises $5.7M
Phone-based generative AI content platform Scriptic has secured $5.7 million in a seed funding round led by Bitkraft Ventures. The funding will be used to expand the team and develop a platform for user-generated content. Scriptic offers interactive mobile games that incorporate generative AI-produced synthetic media, including text, visuals, and audio.

Scriptic gained attention for its game, Scriptic: Crime Stories, after it was re-released by Netflix Games in 2022. The episodic game revolves around solving a murder by examining the victim’s phone and its contents, such as texts, voice notes, and video clips. The startup has been utilizing generative AI tools, including OpenAI’s text and image tools, since 2021. Scriptic is currently experimenting with AI image and video generators, as well as synthetic speech tools.
Scriptic CEO Nihal Tharoor expressed excitement about expanding the company’s interactive shows, opening up the community for user-generated content, and further advancing their ambitious goals.
Generative Gaming
Scriptic emphasizes that its AI material is meant to inspire human creativity rather than replace it. The company has created six titles, with its app being installed 1.5 million times. The recent funding round brings Scriptic’s total investment to $8.2 million. The company plans to use the funding to build a team for TV shows and gaming, as well as establish a platform for user-generated content.
The long-term goal of Scriptic is to become the ‘Roblox of narrative,’ comparing itself to the popular gaming platform. Other companies, such as Roblox, Didimo, Latitude, and Google, are also exploring the integration of generative AI in video games to enhance player experiences.
