The NBC workplace comedy ‘Powerless’ is set to premiere February 2nd and there are already major changes in the shows direction according to the official website for the series.
Originally, the comedy was set to take place at an insurance company that specializes in coverage against damaged caused by the actions of the superhero community. After the premiere was shown at Comic-Con, the series lost its creator and showrunner Ben Queen.
According to the NBC site, the series will now focus on a division of Wayne Enterprises. Could this mean a cameo from company CEO himself, Bruce Wayne?
Emily Locke lands her dream job as Director of Research and Development for Wayne Security in Charm City, home to super heroes and villains and citizens fed up with the collateral damage of their constant fighting. Full of confidence and big ideas, Emily quickly learns that her aspirations far exceed those of her new boss and officemates, so it will be up to her to lead the team toward their full potential and the realization that you don’t need superpowers to be a hero.
What makes this interesting is that the pilot will, of course, have to be re-shot and the character bios that have been circulating are almost certainly changing as well. Alan Tudyk was cast as “Del”, the power hungry, yet inept manager who happens to be the boss’ son. What will his character be now? Will there be additional cameos added as the show progresses?
What do you think of the changes to Powerless before it has even aired? Let us know.
