Oct 12, 2018

Breaking news concerning Netflix’s Iron Fist series!

Despite some who liked the recent second season of Iron Fist being a bit of an upgrade from Scott Buck’s horrid first season and the so-so Defenders series. According to Deadline, Netflix has decided to cancel the series instead of moving forward with a third season.

He’s the joint statement from Marvel Television and Netflix via Deadline.

“Marvel’s Iron Fist will not return for a third season on Netflix,” said the Disney-owned comic giant and the streamer in a joint statement to Deadline today. “Everyone at Marvel Television and Netflix is proud of the series and grateful for all of the hard work from our incredible cast, crew and showrunners,” Marvel and Netflix added. “We’re thankful to the fans who have watched these two seasons, and for the partnership we’ve shared on this series. While the series on Netflix has ended, the immortal Iron Fist will live on.”

Iron Fist’s cancellation is the first time the streaming service has cancelled a Marvel series. Although, producers and even Netflix killed any talk of a second season for The Defenders, where Danny Rand was a lead character.

With Disney moving forward with it’s own streaming service it’s a little curious if Fist is just the first of many shows to get cancelled and or possibly moved over.
