Antonio Campos’ adaptation of ‘The Devil All the Time,’ will now include ‘It’ star Bill Skarsgard and ‘Sharp Objects’ breakout Eliza Scanlen. Netflix has officially acquired the film for distribution. Also, Campos is directing and co-wrote with Paulo Campos.
Skarsgard and Scanlen join a truly all-star cast. The two join Tom Holland, Chris Evans, Mia Wasikowska, Robert Pattinson and Tony Award winner Gabriel Ebert. The actors attached themselves prior to the start of the Toronto Film Festival.
Skarsgard had a star-making role as Pennywise the Clown in the box office hit ‘It.’ He reprised the role in the sequel, releasing September. Moreover, last year he was in Hulu’s ‘Castle Rock’ and ‘Assassination Nation.’
Scanlen caught her big break co-starring as Amy Adams’ sister in the HBO limited series ‘Sharp Objects.’ In addition, she’ll be Beth in Greta Gerwig’s ‘Little Women’ adaptation, releasing December.
The premise is as follows:
“A midwestern gothic involving a serial killer couple, a faith-testing preacher, and a corrupt local sheriff in a story told across two decades. The story takes place in Knockemstiff, Ohio, a forgotten backwoods where a storm of faith, violence and redemption brews. Based on Donald Ray Pollock’s novel.”
Production will start next month in Alabama. However, there is no release date yet.
